Very good points,With so called government cutbacks they closed down a lot of little schools in our area these past few years, one small village school only a few miles from here ,the parents said no way are you closing this down they protested non stop help candlelight marches through the village with the kids at midnight got the media involved, outcome they demolished the school and have just completed the building of a new multi million pound school on the old site and ensuring an education for the village for years to come,I asked a high ranking official of the education department whom i new why some were closed and this was not ,Simple they replied THEY PUT UP A FIGHT .Well done to pipa for coming on board ,shame large organisations and governing bodies have not been as quick at coming forward ,you should put a list up of all that you have asked and let everyone see who is supporting our case and who is not.

Ref-Gift Pigeons,Started racing as a lad in 1972 and got my first national ticket in 1974 from the SNFC Avranches race when i timed a blue cock that had been gifted from Kit Rae from Brydekirk still remember standing at the loft with my late mother ,my loft at Wamphray stood 50yds from the main Glasgow to London railway line, when a batch of seven pigeons approached following the railway ,the blue cock dropped to me gaining 144th open from 5000 plus the other six continued for lanarkshire, Next gift youngster my late father and i picked from the nest of my cousin ben scott also from brydekirk it was a late bred and did not race until the yearling stage, the pigeon was a cheq wf hen ,when it was 2yo i entered it from cheltenham on the saturday 236 mls then basketed it on the tuesday for the SNFC gold cup race from Rennes I timed here at 9-23 after flying 15 3/4 hours from 500mls into a nw wind to take 2nd section 11th open gold cup from an entry of 7500 when only 32 made it on the night,by the way it was flying to the perch,(or me )Wish i was gifted birds of that calibre for free now -
Good Luck Lads with your racing ,dont think it really matters which route you take personally as there is no easy route back into ayrshire ,you have some hellish terrain to cross,I think it must rate as one of the most difficult places to race pigeons into and always admire the performances at national level given the disadvantage they face before the strings are cut .

Defo not why pick on the guy after only a few defeats at the end of the day its the guys on the park that need to look in the mirror, with the inflated wages.

Only others they would get in there water would be Johnsons iron tonic or a quarter tab of multivit from boots per 2 ltr drinker ,but only very rarely when breeding ,and only the iron tonic very very rarely when racing,to be honest the racers only got plain water last season apart from a canker treatment and still won with the best of them ,if your winning with your system diamond sure you will stick to it regardless of others ,me likewise, good luck for 2012

With the open aviary ,i have used this method for a few years now,the youngsters grow fantastic ,but when they are about 10-12 days old i remove the polycarbonate and switch of the heater to allow as much oxygen to enter the loft as possible, the reason being there are twice the number of birds thus eliminating the chance of respiratory rearing its head
-
I treat the breeders for canker when they are sitting eggs ,can then be happy with youngsters being healthy ,feed a good breeding mix until the youngsters are starting to eat in the boxes with the parents at that stage they get as many quality maples as they want, never used black minerals for as many years as i can remember as i found the old birds just went crazy for its salt content and drank far to much water, but at this game everyone to there own .

I have a stock loft with attached aviary that stands open all year although because of its position no water ever enters, with the birds down on eggs i covered most of the aviary front with clear polycarbonate and turned on a six foot tube heater yesterday dont no about the birds but there owner was in dreamland when he fed them tonight

The guys and galls who race and win consistently have mastered the art of racing The ones who dont have not. Some people can own the best birds in the land but if they do not no the head from the asre not going to master the ART ?
