  1. Albear Kirky Vic Kev'd OldYellow member in so far
  2. no highest velocity of two birds entered put forward , you cant possibly base any winner on velocity alone as i have said in my previous post as route wind come into play at 500 + miles
  3. best velocity out of the two birds sent , as wind route ectra would have to be taken in to consideration , velocity at 500 + miles is not a good indication of the race so all these factors would need to be taken into consideration
  4. just to clear up i think its now a 2 bird nom so 2 cocks 2 hens or 1 of each or just one up to the flyer and his pocket but best velocity submited from the race above 500 mile if my counting right thats 6 in
  5. i think only draw back would be no room to mate in there box
  6. cheers mate
  7. mine speak for themselves just check my photobucket and also Kirky on here flys birds originating from me , they have won up to 512 miles , dusty won 1st club 1st section 6th open 2285 birds 358 miles
  8. thats 4 in , im just looking to see if theres a need to have this , but its all in fun and be nice to see a result with all our nom birds on surely ? thank for your support Vic
  9. well Kirky and i are in it so far any other takers ? 2 in so far , ( can do ours straight away same club ) ;D ;D ;D ;D 3 with Albear
  10. these are the things i've already took into consideration so with each result wind ectra will have to be taken into consideration as well as route bird flown be it south or north at the end of the day it will be down to a judge to decide or all that entred could vote whatever the format we all would have to agree to make it viable which im sure we can do a bit of fun something to look forward to and can put pictures on site as well
  11. 500 +mile challenge so under 600 hundred fine
  12. well shall be call it a 2 bird 500 +mile challenge , then can have 2 birds for £10 and best birds velocity be put forward only ? then if racing only cocks they still have the chance of 2 birds been entered
  13. mj burden raced until last year , only recently packed up due to pigeon lung
  14. not a one loft race its a yearling nom , which will be judged race point can be any over 500 mile , in my instance its 510 mile but its over 500 mile
  15. yes you would select one ( or could be agreed one cock one hen per loft ) entry from your yearlings at beginning of racing to race over 500 miles and open to Pigeon Basic members only otherwise it would be too big a task to have someone Judge it , i have a few people in mind for the Job perhaps someone like M J Burden , there doesnt need to be any money involved but im sure if theres a prize then more may enter ? i think a Minimal amout such as £5 per bird max ( £10 if cock and hen ) just looking for suggestions and to see if enough intrest to continue it im happy to select a hen or both cock and hen pay my £10 in at beginning of season if need to replace due to hawk or losses then any other bird will cost same £5 to replace , once we can agree on a format ectra then we can put a final wording up on site
  16. Just a thought of mine to run a 500 mile yearling challenge you have to select a yearlings ring number for the challenge , theres many one loft races and similar sprint races but heres one for the distance minded fancier and a near level platform as be racing a unknown quantity , so be a bit of fun with a bit of cash to be won so what do you think ? any thoughts ideas welcome
  17. well theres many breeds to choose from , if was me then i would of gone to Blackpool and seen the birds been shown there are many types which arent so popular and be fewer of these birds and be easier winning there classes ectra just a thought
  18. why not get some cutters or catolonain tumblers that out fly falcons as thats what the breeds bred for ?
  19. pepperman Jansens never heard of these dark velvet birds but they were lovely to handle the VB X Kirkpatrick bred one red grizzle and one blue bar with bronze on top which has moulted out and is just a blue bar now , the grizzle was a casulty to the hawk been mainly white , so i've repaired the hen to a Leo Lukkasen Dark cock which flew Blois ( just over 400 miles to me ) so the colouring wont be a factor in this years pairing and hopefully i will remain hawk free this season .
