know a few fanciers with these birds and both very good fliers

i drill holes in the plastic struts sticking out need a very small drill bit then you can screw the trap to the loft , then they never blow off think this has happened to quite a few of us in the past , you never know a few might work there way back mate

trap like lightning as well

to be honest tried it both ways i.e end of week and alway through with similar results but a little and often does keep the birds in good condition and there feathering has a nice sheen and good falling of down

good debate , but each bird / strain will be different , and weight can be fat or muscle , feeding controls weight and exercise creates muscle it's getting the ballance right you cant put fitness on a unhealthy bird

i use a small amount all week mainly for conditioning / trapping

sorry to hear pete had a trap blow of mine the last time we had high winds tg mine was an empty section

believe he flew carmicheal kirkpatricks were lovely reds with black splashes , is he still flying ?
