are its legs broken ? or is it lacking calcium ?? either way best soluition would be give it a calcium tablet get an old stocking slip bird in to and suspend the bird to top of a box with a cup hook ensure it can get to food and water tho :)and if its a hen could well be egg bound
well its either been in wrong loft and held captive or its been injurded and rehabilitated , but it knew where home was so i guess wrong loft nowt wrong with its abilty to find home or win ,its just a shame some folk keep these birds in when in fairness 9/10 would rather give bird away than pay for its return
when my great uncle had race birds he had one loft no sections boxes one half perches other side , never seperated a bird danger is if adults strike up and take a yb with them 9/10 times it gets lost
i think your best bet is try to find your local club and meet its members , and ask the secatary if he would ask members on your behalf for some ybs to help you start up im sure most would be willing to help and apply to join club , like said before you might be able to help an old hand out and they'll teach you the ropes a bit
