yes ive had this , this year for the first time in 50 odd years [that i know of ] i thought it had to be another hen lay in that box, but for the few pairs i keep, for stock,sure enough, there was one extra egg, but i took it away,and let them sit on two.

i think maybe a mix up with carrion crow and rook as fifer said, the carrion will nest as a single pair, and will kill birds, the rooks are differant, and nest in colonies,the carriion crow can hybridise with the hooded crow and feeds on worms insects fruits vertebrates, eggs and birds, and can be seen mobbing birds of prey,,,,the rook,feeds on worms, snails,mice and seeds

exactly that shadow, the sparrow hawks are nipping them at the loft, but the perigrines are the ones that will hit a batch[ or race batch], kill one and the rest are so disorientated and injured by flying in to any thing. and as tam pepper says a ten mile radius round him, thats a ten mile radius round most fanciers.the answer must lie in our own hands, somehow??

i seen it last year[seen the bother many times b4 that]a pair nesting in a tree,pretty close to a freind of mine, the crow, actualy caught a yb in mid air and killed it, i can assure you this is perfectly true, they were a complete pest for him , getting bolder and bolder,,,,,till they shifted
