  1. set her up next year again for the same race , try a differant method
  2. make sure youve plenty ventilation ,,,and dont overcrowd your loft , these are the preventatives ,, if its bad, tylan [antibiotic] but as a last resort
  3. are you just meaning they need just black minerals,, maybe right , who knows , but how do you manage stopping them eating any grit when their out?
  4. its really a shame to all concerned , a lot of work and thought goes in to trying to condition birds for these races , i was honestly looking forward to see how these yearlings performed ,never mind theres nothing anyone can do about it ,but it really is a shame
  5. it certainly was nice to see a pic of the bird , a beautifull pigeon, must have had a very strong heart,, as said before,,,,the stuff dreams are made of ,,,,great stuff
  6. a big question really, i,e w hood , natural, sprint , distance etc, but in general i used to like my w,hood cocks out early every morning inc friday ,, bath friday morn and right in again and fed w,hood mix , left in peace all day till basketing shown hens [sometimes ] varying times suiting the cocks b4 showing hens tried to get them to eat a bit ,, even a handfull od redband , mainly to get them to drink ,, but many ways to skin a cat ;D
  7. i think that says it all for me,, but harder to find than what fanciers think sometimes
  8. levi,s book" on the pigeon" is one of the most interesting , but as far as racing goes , dave allens book is a good guide to the beginner , but the old dr barkers book on the racing pigeon , still takes some beating
  9. i beleive its very difficult to get a really good stiock pair, but if you manage it, they seem to breed winners at any age
  10. yes i agree ,, but who knows , things can change fast "untill further notice???" hope so anyway

  15. could be very interesting dooman ,, good luck , may see your findings at a later time,,, just out of curiosity ,like many , i raced too many for the size of loft , i nearly allways found that i was left with the anmount the late david palmer advocated i,e,a half to 1cubic metre per pigeon , coincidence,,i dont know
  16. well done tammy ,, good flying
  17. i would say chocolate,,,,,,,fruit and nut ;D

    youll get ,",let off" ;D ;D ;D with that one ;D ;D ;D
  23. i get the impression roland and timbarra are on two differant wave lengths,, roland is saying the birds will find their own grit, so in saying that ,however they get it ,they need it,, but timbarra is saying birds dont need grit at all , which in my opinion is wrong ,,,,i think tony,s post says it all
  24. absolutely,, quite incredable ,, really some performance
