what is your solution?? start racing young birds in the middle of june so they have experience to go to 250 miles at end of july?? and we could start the old birds in march!!!! if you dont want to race 250 mile in september keep them at home. pentland are racing from newark on 27th September and there is every chance the weather will be better then than it is now

why do the snfc have to mark on thursday for a race from leicester. for gods sake they went to tours marking 48 hours before the race. And in view of the forecast shouldnt they be considering delaying the marking

its the same old story in many clubs the willing horse gets all the work. sadly most members dont give a toss and dont care who does the work as long as its not them

sorry to hear about your uncle. YOU are the future of the sport the younger generation who are not afraid of change. There are too many stuck in their ways and are holding the sport back. Numbers are dwindling and there is not a lot we can do about it as there are too many other things to take up folks time nowadays and keeping pigeons or any type of livestock is a 365 day a year job. Clubs (and federations) will have to amalgamate as there are far too many clubs with four or five competing members. When I started most clubs had 20+ members. I have seen results in the papers with 3, 2 or even 1 member flying. How can that give any pleasure? Competition breeds success. Dont be afraid to fly against the best. There are also too many fanciers who sit back and expect others to do all the work and fill the official positions in clubs but they are the first to moan if things dont go their way. Sorry to ramble on but I hope you stay in the sport

how did your race go?

it is used weekly during yb season to return scottish strays to their owners. transporters or volunteers collect strays from their own area take them to the stray centre and collect any strays for their own area. i think the shu charge £2.35 per bird and the feds then add their own cost. a lot cheaper than amtrack!! thought the rpra could have something organised. shu lead the way again
