Why not go in for a change then scrap the national, when the national was formed, I don't think they had guys from the borders, or the east in mind, as it was a west only venture, for its distance races that is why , Glasgow, Lanarkshire, would have been its limit. And skibereen would have been a good starting point and in the 50 -60s there would have been easy 3,000 members or more in those areas all within a 20 mile radius,

If your section has an impossibility of wining the national why give it credence, when others can win the national regularly, and their section's only a fool would put there hands together for the winner they couldn't beat.
