I was away for a few days. Filled the 7 litre water drinkers up etc.

Friend. a very reliable and good friend feeds and water them.

Said if frozen water use the sink in doors, but to check!

No frozen water...!

Came back late Thursday night.

Now as you may recall I have an open loft, but had shut the loft aviary up. But left a big aviary along the front open so they could come out into the open to perch etc.

Thursday, again water not frozen.

But a strong cold Eastern wind tore through Thursday and during the night. So first time in years I ad a slight icing on top of the water.

Broke easily with finger, but took indoors and refilled. No doubt whatsoever if I had enclosed them inside the loft it's self they would have been not frozen. ... Thought should have two sets of drinkers to swap. But then laughed to my self 'No need'.

Also some trees have now been cut down etc. so there is even more of a wind cutting across or into the loft. So am more than happy.

Indeed - like many others used to have to break ice every other day through winter months.
