Surrey Flyer Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 Hi all, I have approx 10-15 spare hens if anyone would like them, these would suit anyone looking for widowhood hens. I purchased these for £5.00 each, i have now got too many. These may also suit anyone starting up and want to take a chance on what they breed. Thanks Bob
beechessam Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Hi I am looking to start out with pigeon. How much would carriage be? Thanks
wilkins Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 where abouts are you from beechessam
Guest Paulo Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Sorry, all gone. Bob If your stuck I may be able to help you out. How many do you need?
beechessam Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Well the house I live in has had the garage kitted out for pigeon, perches houses and boxes as a while ago the owner kept a few birds. Then a few weeks a go a racer landed and stayed a few days eating the chicken food and it was a real character who would greet me every time I went to the garage. So I have lots of room and would like to have a few birds around the place. They do not need to be anything special, as I am just starting out and want to learn the ropes.
wilkins Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 is the shed in good order ? vermin proof and is it pairs you would like to breed from courier is about 25 quid for 3 birds

I'll have a surplus of maybe 2 - 3 hens. I've already culled the crap out of my yb team and they are young hens who havne't chalked but have come well or are nestmates to pigeons that have chalked. I was going to use them as widowhood hens but I've been a bit greedy in buying hens in off a few fanciers round our way who have packed plus the man who started me up. So I now have a lot more hens than I need even allowing for spares. all the hens I have brought in mostly have chalks so are proven birds and ideal to use as widowhood hens with my top cocks. If you want these hens your more than welcome you'll have to arrange carriage and pay carriage but I don't want any money from them. They are too good to kill so if noone wants them I'll just find the room to keep them somewhere. One of the lads on here may be able to loan you a few cocks maybe so you can breed some yb's off them.
beechessam Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 is the shed in good order ? vermin proof and is it pairs you would like to breed from courier is about 25 quid for 3 birds Its not a shed but a large double garage, as vermin proof as anything can be. As I said it has been set up for birds in the past and is very clean.
