I have friends who have them as house pets also.

I was in the poaching game long enough to understand them.

Had polecats and ferrets for around 20 + years, when I let them out in the garden , eye 14 owe them, they never went out the garden, and the guy a 100 yards had the doos.

Dougie had polecat/ferrets for fifty year along with pigeons and not once did they ever get into loft in fact never ever escaped from hutch (bad management)if they do but would never trust them if they got into loft as they are born hunters and killlers but would think it near impossible for them to get anywere near to catch a pigeon and pigeon would really have to be daft to even go near it as the first thing they would do is fly out their road ,but your right Dougie a bit of common sense and the ferret could have been picked up no problem instead of being killed maybe some poor wean who s pet it was left door open as it looked in not bad condition and dont think it would have came from to far away :drinking-coffee-200:

it looked in no bad condition the ferret is chewed to *expletive removed*,and Sammy ferrets can climb and as john said if he had not been there who knows what would have happened I m o he did the right thing, something similar happened to us we had 30 doos round the back door in a basket ready to get picked up I went into the house for a drink came back out and ther e the big polecat ferret just ready to go into the basket a thought about picking it up , aye right I kicked it into next doors garden stone dead it was ,it belonged to the eejit up the road who did,nt even have apadlock on the cage ,he came down looking for and asked me if I saw it ,a said there its there stone dead a told him what happened to it and he took a swing at me , he also landed over next doors garden
