PAPA B Posted June 29, 2016 Report Posted June 29, 2016 Does anyone no if ultra sonic rat and mouse repellers work' in the loft, also does it do any harm to the doos. There the plug in types for indoor use.
Guest IB Posted June 29, 2016 Report Posted June 29, 2016 I have no experience of rats, but I'm told as rats eat mice, you will 'only' be bothered by one of them, not both. I do have experience of ultrasonic deterrents at my former address, and new address. Mice: I was bothered by them right to the end at my former address even with 2 ultrasonic deterrents fitted within the loft. But having the wrong size of wire mesh fitted on the loft didn't help. Although only half inch mesh, I saw a mouse pass straight through it after only a moments hesitation. Cats: I wasn't bothered by them at my former address, I had an ultrasonic animal chaser slung under my veranda, didn't keep them out of the garden, but from tracks in snow it seemed to keep 'the one cat' away from the loft. Relied on high hedge and fence to keep them out. I've no hedge or high fences at my new address, and the same ultrasonic animal chaser slung under my back window doesn't keep cats out of the garden. Bit of a nightmare and going to raise fences to keep them out.
