Guest Hairylayer Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 Went in the loft yesterday to find one of my stock hens dead on the floor with her throat ripped out and her two youngsters out there box killed they were dude to be weaned yesterday aswell. All the other birds (12 of them) were huddled in to two of the top nest boxes.Been round and plugged any thing I can see hole wise and brought the birds home overnight in baskets. What's the best way to catch it, can't understand why it just killed the 3 think I was lucky.
Rolldowns54 Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 Fenn trap covered up so pigeons cant get in it you can get them from most gun shops about 10 or 12 quid you need the smaller size i have them set in tunnels round my loft all the time and catch an occasional rat etc or look at trapman on net mink trap

KIDDON Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 Are you sure it is a stoat it might be a rat the only way to be sure is to catch the culprit in a trap
gulkie Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 I'm sure if it was a mink or stoat it would have wiped u out ,to me all signs Point to a rat ,leave some chocolate melted on to a fen trap it will be backThey love chocolate .good luck.
