to mecleardot.gif Hi I didn't really want to join I just wanted to post on your forum about a poor wee pigeon that flew in to our site , landed on one of the boys and wouldn't leave, he was thirsty and exhausted , probably blown off course with the dreadful weather . He was a racing pigeon with 3 tags . Anyway i googled his tags and I contacted Irish clubs , telephoned various numbers but no one got back to me . He wouldn't fly away after 3 days so is now at a rescue loft . Thanks anyway but I don't need on the forum anymore . It was really only urgent advice I required a week ago. My little pigeon is happy and safe now .

Kind regards

Wendy

Hi everyone its me that the wee Irish burdy flew to on friday afternoon last week.( Well, it landed at my place.) I looked after it best as I could . Im situated between Glasgow and LochLomond West of Scotland. I couldn't keep the pigeon any longer ( I had it until Monday) it wanted to stay, but my land has all sorts of predators. Someone from a rescue loft took the pigeon away, it may fly away from them , I don't know. Anyway I tried my best and did what I thought was the right thing at time. Im so sorry if the man in Ireland has lost wee burdy., truly I am.

On a positive note, I never thought I would be remotely interested in pigeons, however I rather enjoyed looking after him/her. Take care everyone Happy racing :)

Heres a reply I received from Wendy when I replied to her about the stray bird that she had and the reasons for her not getting any replies from the IHU as she was sending them to S. Lehane who sadly passed away last year but she has since managed to get the bird passed on to a fellow fancier and is quite happy with the help she received. :)

Awww thank you for letting me know Patrick . That's sad about the man dying. Fully understand now.

Everyone was laughing at me because I was concerned about a racing pigeon but it was a lovely wee thing and obviously loved human contact . It landed on one the boys here and basically was begging for food and a rest. As I said before the wee thing is safe and apparently the guy that took it is an excellent bird man. Just a shame the real owner lost his bird . Will you let him know?

I have enjoyed learning a small insight into the world of racing pigeons . You learn something new everyday !

Thank you for your emails and if ever a burdy decides to pop by my fishery again I know exactly who to contact

Kind regards
