Walter swanston Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 I hust love racing pigeons, over the years I have coped with peregrines, sparrow Hawks and the occasional cat. This morning while enjoying my early morning coffee and watching the young birds circling in the sky I was.amazed to see a large dog fox strolling nonchalantly across my lawn.By the time I got my young boxer unearthed from her bed and out on patrol the fox had gone but that is something else to keep an eye out for.

The ospreys pass over my house every day Stuart. They are often harassed by seagulls that try to get them to give up their catch so you could be spot on pal.

A year latter another vixen smashed my plastic sputnik to bits and killed 60 old birds what a mess they make . My m8 the fox catcher took out 13 of them in 6 weeks no problens since but have the dogs out most of the time now , they are opertunists and not to be trusted

Sounds like a goshawk Rab, you dont want one of those *&*%$£* round the loft they are deadly! There was one here that the doo's seen coming and they vanished. I then saw something that if I hadn't seen with my own eyes I wouldn't believe. The goshawk then started trying to catch house martins, it was like watching the red arrows in a dog fight. Fortunately the house martins won but the agility and speed of the goshawk was frightening! I think it was a juvenile male with not much of a clue!
