Guest Gareth Rankin Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 It has been arranged that if 20 teams from Scotland are sent then they will be given there own countries status, this will then give the first Scottish fancier in the final of the 2015 race a free team to enter for the 2016 race (value 500.00 euros) At present there are 10 teams entered from Scotland, the shipment dates are the 9th April and the 16th May, anyone wishing to enter pigeons for the 9th April shipment will have to contact the Algarve one loft race Agent Chris Sutton from Leicester on 07792356330 by Monday 16th March. Air transport has to be booked in advance, the May date for booking will be made available later. Winning pigeon 75,000 euros Total prize money 300,000 euros Cost per team of 3 is 500 euros + £60.00 transportation costs from Leicester to then have each team delivered to Portugal. !! Please see link below for rules and regulations. http://www.goldenracealgarve.com/?lang=en A great time of the year to visit the Algarve, just after the racing season in Scotland has finished, have been there the last 2 years and had a great holiday. Probably the best one loft race in Europe which is growing every year. The final race is 300 miles and has a great success with more than 50% making the final race from approx 2500 birds entered at the start. Please contact the agent Chris Sutton (07792356330) for further details or for entering your teams. Best regardsGareth ** Just to clarify that I am not a agent and have no personal gain from promoting this race, I am only trying to promote to the Scottish fanciers a one loft race which I believe to be the best and also to try and accumulate 20 teams which will give the first Scottish pigeon a free entry into the 2016 race. 500 euros at todays rate is approx. £364.00
just ask me Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 i went over last year lads this is class the birds are there no 1 priority there are as professional as they come but there also a very relaxed atmosphere about the whole event which makes it ideal for the whole family close by a brilliant beach goes as far as the eye can see its more relaxed in monte gordo where the race is held but still enough pubs restaurants boat trips fishing etc to keep you and the family entertained for a week down the road about 40 or so miles you have some the more livelier resorts i myself like monte gordo and cant fault it looking at there returns in the main over the last few year there way and above most one loft races Rui the guy running it is easy to deal with and is always very approachable with any questions you may have if we get the birds between the england scotland wales and ireland we can give these germans a run for there money

There was a good mixture of countries in the first 30. Lets hope it's one of the British fanciers that win it this year.
