sparko Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 does anyone know of something i can put on the feed and how much to stop yeast build up while treating with liquid baytril ? i cant get any nystatin etc
Tony C Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Two things you could try after the treatment is over, one of which is this http://www.bjffeeds.co.uk/products/Y40-(250ml).html the other is a crushed clove of garlic in their drinker for 15 consecutive days again after treatment. Fresh water & a fresh clove everyday.

Wiley Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 IMO nothing should be put on grains or in drinkers when treating with anything that includes grit or minerals. To bring the yeast down the use of cider vinegar would be helpful

Wiley Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 If your giving your birds natural yoghurt during treatment you have a great chance of making the medication deactive due to it's calcium content, hence the reason medications say not to give any grit or minerals while treating either.
Mixxy Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 See if you can get yourself some Hydrogen Peroxide (human food grade), i guarantee no Baytril needed, nor any yeast problems!
jamesb Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 See if you can get yourself some Hydrogen Peroxide (human food grade), i guarantee no Baytril needed, nor any yeast problems!how much do put in the water, cheers
Mixxy Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 how much do put in the water, cheers About half teaspoon to 10 liters. Make sure its 35% stuff, you will see a lot of diluted food grade for sale (bob's Best etc).
ally mac Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 http://www.mclaughlinlofts.com/Secrets_.html This must be similar to the hydrogen peroxide?

Would always remove grit and minerals. And would boil water the night previous or get it in 2 ltr bottles of still water from local supermarket 17p .
