fifestay Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 I would suggest that since this is a new board that we all try and ensure that we dont get into the same crap re Scottish politics as the last pigeon politics thread. As Gez says it is boring and going nowhere and there really is little more to be said. ;D ;D ;D
maddy706 Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Well said Fifestay I quite agree with u new site new start
THE FIFER Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 ITS LOOKING GOOD SO HOPEFULLY WE WILL KEEP IT THIS WAY
Guest Doostalker Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Totally agree Fifestay. Let's keep the sniping out of it. Let's talk about our doos and how we can get better at the sport we love.
Guest Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 Pigeons before politics, lets keep it that way
Guest Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 I agree entierly, I think there is so much to talk about without putting knives in backs. Thanks for the new Site Richard, it's great
jimmy white Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 agree entirely , may be we can all learn something about the PIGEONS now, its nice to hear all opinions about the birds
Guest Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Let us pigeon fanciers help other pigeon fanciers about pigeon racing. health, racing, training we are all learning
methilman Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 lets forget abaut the politics@just races our birds ok
samantha Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Im new, I didnt see the old forum what scottish politics?? what knifes?? what backs?? Just kiddin!! It sounds like its best I dont know!
Guest Doostalker Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Samantha, do you knwo the old saying about sleeping dogs?? The forum has been great since it changed over. Keep up the good work everybody.
samantha Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 yes Im really glad I have found this forum I feel like I have been in the dark up to now guessing what to do for the best, it is a little serious though, little in the way of banter!! dont you think? ( not a criticism just my first impression!)
snowy Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 to be honest i dont think i would have started up again if it wernt for this site & all you experienced fanciers! its your fault im on it every time im not at work!(lol) you try & explain that to my missis & kids saying dads on the pc again! thanks webmaster & everyone! snowy & westy
Peckedhen Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 yes Im really glad I have found this forum I feel like I have been in the dark up to now guessing what to do for the best, it is a little serious though, little in the way of banter!! dont you think? ( not a criticism just my first impression!) Well, that is what I thought, at first, Samantha. So serious and everyone seemed to know what they were talking about and I didn't think a novice with stupid questions would be welcome. How wrong I was! I have been overwhelmed by the kindness of some of these guys helping me to save my ill bird. The griping is not on this board and, long may it remain this way. It didn't give a very good impression to newcomers to the sport!!
samantha Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 I do sense that there is history? and maybe some bridgebuilding going on? but I do agree Ive had loads of welcome messages and almost instant replies when Ive asked for help, and Im not even a pigeon racer just a girl with 3-4 west of england tumblers!
Guest shadow Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 The problem with banter is that some can give but can not take it and it ends up with people insulting each other and worse, there used to be a forum on run by Boddy & ridewood and admin had to scrap it and try to start again, but no body uses the new one there is only 10 or so letters on there for this year. Quality not Quantity.
samantha Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 ok mr shadow I promise to keep it polite and formal... see I just cant help it!! ;D
Fax Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 I agree that there was far too much insults and inaccuracies posted but there was also an awful lot of valuable information posted as well. Information that in some instances had been supressed in other quarters. Why have a forum called Pigeon Politics at all ? To me this is simple censorship and I believe that adults should be able to manage their own information. For those with less interest or stomach then they can "switch channels". If the posts get insulting then surely this is for the moderator to remove or ask for apologies to be input etc. But at then end of the day whether it is via internet forums or letters to editors etc. people will still wish to be informed one way or another. Increased communication is the answer to gossip and rumour mongers. The truth is out there!
THE FIFER Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 any disputes should be delt with at ur organisation meetings not in public on forums etc, so let's keep things in order and help one another we can all get something from these forums, good moulting to all,
stucky 1 Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Here here fax, there things going on and this is one way of keeping it from the pigeon public censorship, the pigeon politcs board should now be withdrawn from this site as it is not to be used unless the subject is to some peoples liking, richard not included in this statement. As i said in earlier post you dont need read it if you not interested. As long as you not insulting any person you should be allowed to post message. There is a lot on here that is either for children, or the brain dead, neither i read, but there people who want to read them, so i just by pass them and let those who wish to read and post answers to them do it in peace. And i not knocking the site as i think it a good one at that.
carl Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 I may be a bit behind here but did we lose the old forum due to pigeon politics as there was lots of excellent info on there that has now been lost.
tam pepper Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 hi fifestay , i,m sorry i cant agree with your commentsabout boring scottish politics, after all this is a politics forum, there were alot of interesting opinions expressed, if cant talk politics , what do we talk about , up till now nothing, at the moment this is the most boring forum on pigeon basics. fifestay states that all opinions shouldbe dealt with at organisation meeting , he to is missing the point also, we dont all stay in the little kingdom of fife. we are on the world wide web and i wat to hear as much opinions on controversial matters as possible , after all its the best way of forming an opinion , lets get some controveryand get this forum livened up TAM PEPPER
samantha Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 no this isnt a politics forum it is a pigeon forum, Tam pepper, I dont think anyone has a problem with opinions Ideas and maybe even contoversy! it is when people cannot agree to disagree and insults start to fly that it becomes a problem, because the majority of people on here do not want that!! If you have interesting ideas and opinions I think I speak for most, we welcome that, but if you just want to argue things round and round that isnt what this new forum is about! (just speaking my mind tam pepper )
bewted Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 well said samantha, this is a pigeon forum, not a polotics forum, there are lots of decent fanciers on here, with help and advice, lets keep it that way!!!!! bewted
showman Posted October 29, 2005 Report Posted October 29, 2005 Yuo've got this forum way wrong, Tam Pepper. It may suit your needs to make it into a political forum, but I think yu'll find the vast majority of the membership don't want that. If you want a political forum, why not start your own.......and see how many members you get.
