Chris Little Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Agree 100% Fifestay If ETS was to be introduced in the future, a new union will arise Is it better to have anti ETS fanciers joining a new union rather than leaving the sport, at the end of the day it is all a matter of choice
johno Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 fifestay did you not read Ken Buchanans letter in the bhw last week. ets is not the only reason for scottish people joining the rpra . as far as suspensions go let us have an independant body look at the so called suspensions and i am sure everyone whom you allude to as being suspended will abide by their findings. suspensions should be applicable only after the procedures have been folllowed. i believe their are a number of questions concerning the so called suspensions. let someone or body outside pigeons review them.

CAN YOU ANSWER THIS PLEASE JOHNO IF YOU TAKE PART IN YOUR FED AGM DO YOU HAVE TO BE A MEMBER?
me Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 "CAN YOU ANSWER THIS PLEASE JOHNO IF YOU TAKE PART IN YOUR FED AGM DO YOU HAVE TO BE A MEMBER?" this is pretty meaningless if the members who left the SHU on a point of principle need to be a member of the SHU to be a member of any particular fed. That fed cannot insist they pay membership monies and then tell them they can't be members. Its called common sense I think. Some of the SHU feds are showing themselves up here, they could do with taking a leaf out of the book of one the feds who joined the RPRA. In theory the membership of one of their ex clubs who stayed with the SHU could have been debt suspended but common sense prevailed and they thought it only fair to allow these guys to race their doos. Its called class I think some have it some don't.
square_peg Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 all depends when your club agm is. WRONG

me Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 "VERY SORRY ME I NEVER SAID THAT 100% CORRECT ALL I ASKED WAS IF YOU COUKD TAKE PART IN AN ORGANIZATIONS AGM IF YOU WERE NOT A MEMBER" I have a revolutionary suggestion why not let those of us who want to be members of the SHU and race our doos race our doos and why not let those who have left us to join the RPRA race their doos as well. I can assure you I am not the only member of the SHU that is begining to find the fife members a bit embarrassing demanding their pound of flesh right reason or none. Not everyone is impressed with this "debt suspended" nonsense. CAN YOU BE A MEMBER OF THE FIFE FED IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF THE SHU? NO! So get over it let the guys race their doos and get on with racing yours. Just a suggestion.

me Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 "ME DONT KNOW WHO YOU ARE STAND UP BE COUNTED TELL US WHO YOU ARE" had this sort of stuff before from some of the fife members of this forum, why are you so interested? if you want to debate something i've posted fine get on with it. i have no idea who you are but i don't need to know to respect your right to have an opinion about something. Some of us are just getting a bit bored with all this, we just want to race our doos we are not interested in witch hunts. The more witch hunts we have the less likely these guys will ever rejoin us and if the doos in this country are to survive we could do with as many of us singing from the same hymn sheet as possible.

Guest Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 You are wandering off-topic again Guys, spoiling a good discussion by needless sniping. Pity, I personally thought you were doing reasonably well basically sticking to the facts in what is a very emotive subject for some. Good to see too that some are actually looking to the future and are accepting economic reality - there's too many organisations chasing too few members, and as the sport loses hundreds of members every year, the core membership base is dwindling fast. So pure economics dictates that some day soon you guys will need to be in the same organisation again, because small organisations just won't have the funds to put their birds away every week. And if you can't get on with each other : no-one will be racing their doos. Incidently, posted elsewhere and agree with the post in this thread for 'a second Organisation' offering an independent court of appeal in cases where a member is facing suspension. 10 years IS a long time, especially without pigeons.
Guest Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Early part of the thread was about RPRA & Defra. You may remember I suggested to PB that he lead a campaign to both inform the public and convince DEFRA of the non-role racing pigeons have in spreading AI? His reply was that it would be too costly ... he quoted £35,000 as the cost for a newspaper campaign, and implied this was excessive. Economic reality 2. 'Do nothing', save £35,000 newspaper campaign costs and lose £45,000 income. And that's only one Organisation. Wait till the other Organisation Balance Sheets are published. :B
johno Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 when you see how quickly we can all become involved an independant review would seem like a good way forward. we can debate all we like. the only place rules can be tested is in a legal forum. this would lead to excessive costs which would in turn finish pigeons. people who hold or have influence in organisational matters must be more responsible and forget their personal vendettas.
THE FIFER Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 i am not getting involved in any tangle, but could i just ask one question on this subject regarding suspensions, if u had a club in ur fed their members attended ur agm had their say and votes for the coming year, they ordered rings for their members and received them, weeks later they handed back their rings saying they were not flying with ur fed, they did not pay for the rings or even resign, just walked away, no fees paid no rings which they ordered, paid for, this also happened with individual members as well,
johno Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 the way to resign is through the club before the club agm. the club then submits a record of its members to the fed. critical when the club agm takes place.
