Guest TAMMY_1 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 it would appear there was an illegal show held last sunday, crazy when you consider the pres of the shu is a member of said club. any wonder defra treat us they way they do. there have been shows going ahead in scotland, it is an absolute disgrace that any clubs decided to go ahead after knowing all shows were cancelled, no wonder defra clamp down on pigeon and shows and races when they blatantly must know the rules are continually broken, it is irresponsible clubs and feds that totaly ruin everything for others that abide by the rules laid down.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 All they have to do is abide by the rules laid down by DEFRA and there will be no problems for anybody
chickadee Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 All they have to do is abide by the rules laid down by DEFRA and there will be no problems for anybody Agree with you there on that one.

Fair Play Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I hope the their Fed takes appropriate action as Tammy said he played by the rules the DEFRA rules are not just for one they are for all. I hope they are members of this site and realise that their actions have jeopardised the enjoyment of many fanciers - next will to name and shame
Guest Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 nothing was done last year to the rpra members who were letting there birds out while we shu members had to keep them in :-/
tubbles Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 nothing was done last year to the rpra members who were letting there birds out while we shu members had to keep them in :-/ I didn't know that there were rules about that geordie. If you let birds out i don't think it can be said that you are transporting or having a gathering as such. If you mean in the exclusion zone then perhaps you have to keep indoors not too sure on that.
Guest Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 yes in the exclusion zone and in fife where the swan was found
pault Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 ALL I WILL SAY IS LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS CHEERS PAUL
EAGLEOWL Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I hope the their Fed takes appropriate action as Tammy said he played by the rules the DEFRA rules are not just for one they are for all. I hope they are members of this site and realise that their actions have jeopardised the enjoyment of many fanciers - next will to name and shame i agree totally and with tammy,DEFRA will not be happy with going on ,when people go against them ,they will bring stricter laws in which could effect us all .i bet they wouldnt think it was so clever if DEFRA turned up on basket night or stopped transporter wanting to verify all birds had been vacinated and one hundred other things they could use to examine their birds. :-/ :-/ :-/
Guest Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Well if it's true, I'd prefer the AHDO to take appropriate action. Few clubs will have the finances to survive a £5000 fine. And better they go under than the rest of us.
EAGLEOWL Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 If an event is held illegally, the penalty on summary conviction is imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months, or a fine not exceeding level 5 (£5,000) on the standard scale fixed by the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995, or both

EAGLEOWL Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 exactly, they never gave the consequences a second thought when they held the shows and they should have been made accountable for their stupid irresponsible actions agree
Guest Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 exactly, they never gave the consequences a second thought when they held the shows and they should have been made accountable for their stupid irresponsible actions as i said they never did anything about letting pigeons out in the exclusion zone last year :-/
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 as i said they never did anything about letting pigeons out in the exclusion zone last year :-/ well they were also irresponsible folk george who never bothered about the more serious outcome and just flaunted the rules set out by defra
