jakjak Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 I need some advice guys...... a member of my club has invited his friend to my club to fly his pigeons as 'trainers' now the problem for me is that this guy is not a member of the club, fed, (or a union (as far as I am aware) Also his pigeons are NOT RUNG! Am I within my membership rights to stop this? Surely I must be? I want to get my facts straight, before making a point thanks
OLDYELLOW Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 (1) all birds must have a reconised union ring that will be enough (2) all birds must be vacinated (3) he must be a member of a union (4) hes not paid any fed subs enabling to send it that fed , but as his birds arent rung they are not recognised as racing pigeons.
Tony C Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 You can stop him under the DEFRA/vaccination ruling
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 were is youer chairman on this matter
jakjak Posted August 8, 2008 Author Report Posted August 8, 2008 were is youer chairman on this matter LOL.....cant approach him.......its his friend......... there is a few of us who are not very happy......and will be putting a STOP to it tonight, thanks for you help guys.....this is ALL the ammunition I need!!
Guest shadow Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 your club should not even contemplate basketing these pigeons it could lead to all sorts of trouble as previous posts said they are not racing pigeons no rings classed as ferals
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 well at youer agm get rid of chairman because if these birds were picked up in transporter the whole club would be for high jump and i aint kidding
OLDYELLOW Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 Ring your union area secatary and or your fed president up they'll soon put it to a stop
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 that is extream keep it in house if not sorted then go fed pres
OLDYELLOW Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 we need the membership but , rules are rules tell him to join your club next year get some rings then he can fly when hes a fully paid up union member and club member with rung reconised union rings
jakjak Posted August 8, 2008 Author Report Posted August 8, 2008 I will stand my case tonight and let you know how I get on Cheers Lads
OLDYELLOW Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 true chriss this can be done in a nice mannor and in house , as so not to discourage a would be new member , but if this guys adamant on allowing this , its handy to have the phone numbers at hand
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 well if they still do it then only one way to go inform convoyer of birds on lorry he will remove all club birds and club will be put before fed and banned
retired Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 true chriss this can be done in a nice mannor and in house , as so not to discourage a would be new member , but if this guys adamant on allowing this , its handy to have the phone numbers at hand Have to agree if this chap is chairman the toys could certainly come out the pram at his club members going against his wishes - I would forget the Fed and tell the Chairman you will go to the region that should be enough to put a stop to it, if he is still adamant them birds are going - pull all your birds away for the race and refuse to send.
bewted Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 why should he be able to put trainers on if your all in the long run paying for transporter !!! what if his birds have some infectious diseases or anything likewise and you all get it,i hope no,but,it can happen,,,,!!!! maYBE THE CHAIRMAN IS GETTING A BACKHANDER !!! its a multitude of sins !!!
Guest bigda Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 i would phone your chairman before you go to your club and tell him the situation that the said persons birds are not going in the club hut and if he wants to race the birds join next year and you do not want to cause a seen at the marking station in front of his Friends but the birds ain't going full stop >
ajw2255 Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 Check rpra rules http://www.rpra.org/Portals/1/RPRA%20Rule%20Book%202008.pdf Part K 94b cant argue with rpra rules
pjc Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 The birds can not be sent. I would ring the members concerned or the chairman if its his mate now and prevent any embaresment when they get to the club. The chairman should know better! Phil

steve d Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 Without a recognised ring on there leg how can he prove they have been vaccinated, no proof means he cant send..end of story. :P :P
Guest strapper Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 dont even go there!!! the member should be told he is out of order and on no account will the club even consider these birds, u will be breaking numerous rules and risk having ur club suspended. if ur fed got to hear about it and they were sent ..they would be up in arms against ur club. DO NOT LET THEM INTO THE BASKETS ON ANY ACCOUNT! if ur member doesnt like it then tell him to ring the fed sec and tell him to ask him.the fed sec will laugh his tentacles off at him!(providing the secs male)lol.
jakjak Posted August 8, 2008 Author Report Posted August 8, 2008 GOOD NEWS!! This guy brought his unrung 'trainers' to club........so I approached the chairman, and the secretary, and made my point that it was unacceptable.....to which they both agreed!! And the trainers were not accepted! Result! Thanks for the help guys..nice one! The guy was told to ring his youngsters next year, and apply for membership
Diydave Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 this answers a bit tongue in cheek , but here goes , one of the problems with modern day racing (which probably needs a new post setting up) is :- that ,(without predujice)most club members are of the older type, and just want a nice club, so go along with whatever,a lot of members could not quote a rule, or even understand what the rule was meant to signify ? and an even bigger majority could not care less about rules, and ? or , do not understand the rules from a past era, get to reality , pigeon fanciers are declineing , modern day fanciers need to use modern day rules . quetion 1 : do we need a union ?
