Guest bigda Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 the public were told in program by bbc in it the army gave acces to film there were 2 pairs of perigrins wings round nest site rspb said they were a danger to dogs little children farm animals and as not native to britain should be culled army will not allow them acces what do you mean they are not native to where
Guest bigda Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 Britain since when, my gggrand father was a game keeper in Stirling and he keep records of bears and eagle owls in Scotland and wolves what are you talking about, he doesn't mention falcons ,only eagles beavers may be they are getting mixed up with falcons, that are not native to Britain that sounds more like it
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 8, 2008 Author Report Posted August 8, 2008 thats what i was argueing on site falcons were brought here by the gentry and then lived wild eagle owls were residents in all magor forrest areas but the kill perigrins thats a no no as far as rspb is concerned
the pigeon_milker Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 all the birds eat pigeons even worms take the odd chick that is the natural way of life leave them to it hedgehogs will take your best birds its best to run them over before they get a chance to
Guest bigda Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 thats what i was argueing on site falcons were brought here by the gentry and then lived wild eagle owls were residents in all magor forrest areas but the kill perigrins thats a no no as far as rspb is concerned but what do expect, if the only new the half of it the wound-en"t want to be associated with the rspb if the dont beleve you chris get them to send to me, and ill give them the proof if they want :)
bewted Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 but what do expect, if the only new the half of it the wound-en"t want to be associated with the rspb if the dont beleve you chris get them to send to me, and ill give them the proof if they want :) you can give them all the proof you like, but, will they take notice of you,,,,will they hell as like !!!!!
pjc Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 The RSPB will only ever blame everything but birds for reduction in numbers of birds! They blame farming for reduction of song birds, not sparrow hawks and magpies etc etc They will never look on there doorstep!
bewted Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 they dont WANT to look on their doorstep !!! thats just it !!!!
Merlin Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 but what do expect, if the only new the half of it the wound-en"t want to be associated with the rspb if the dont beleve you chris get them to send to me, and ill give them the proof if they want :) Bigda Tooth & Claw is an Open Forum with all points of view being allowed,as for them coming to us,dont think so,but we should be going to them and informing them of our concerns, problems, regarding our birds, and indeed all threatened species of birds, which in my opinion is a lot of the time down to the protection and breeding programes of Bird of Prey which are formulated and funded by the R.S.P.B ,nothing to stop anyone doing this in a factual and civil manner, but sadly not enough of us do this.

sammy Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 surly not the rspb wanting to kill birds what would that do to there funds if the pubic found out about that this is just what we need but how do we go about it LETTING the public know what these people are really up to
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 8, 2008 Author Report Posted August 8, 2008 by attending game fairs and having our own stall with photos of damage to birds the cost and anything else you could think of
Guest bigda Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 by attending game fairs and having our own stall with photos of damage to birds the cost and anything else you could think of bravo, chris our own racing pigeon stand next to the rspb cruelty to birds and all the rings displayed of birds that they ate i am sure we could take some photos of them at the kill and as you say the cost of the bird loss-ed tell the public this was not one peregrine that done this damage
bewted Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 and who is going to do all this stalls, game fairs etc ????
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 8, 2008 Author Report Posted August 8, 2008 all organisations should sort this out or the confederation should
Guest chrisss Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 and who is going to do all this stalls, game fairs etc ???? the rpra [and other unions]should be paying for this and so much more, we need a "counter propaganda dept" for want of a better word every time the rspb open their mouths about hawks we should be there with photos of the damage they cause not just to our birds but all birds the rpra get enough money from us to fund a small war ,never mind a bit of pr work
Guest bigda Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 and who is going to do all this stalls, game fairs etc ???? i would like to propose that one member from each rpra,Shu,whu ihu nihu be elected to attend on our behalf with wages for the said games Fayre's at major events through out the season say about 10 Fayre's a year £10 per hour X4 =£40X8=£320x10=£3,200 set up costs as per unions tax allowances, with enrollment to help the pigeon, if the rspb can get members enrolled, why can"t we a donation from grain merchants and studs would come in handy become a member and to make it work, i say £1,000 from each union would amass £5,000 so there is lee-way there to go to-wards wages but something like this is needed to be done :( :'( :o
BLACK W F Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 this is not a case for any one union to take on we need to be united in our efforts to put a sensable point of view if we do not unite and start to solve the hawk problem in 10-20 years time pigeon racing will be a thing of the past raising money has never been a problem when a good cause needs funds we need to find the right people to fight our corner and back them to the hilt the time for talking about the problem has finished we need to act before its too late
