In your opinion, what is the worst illness to have in your loft that affects the performance of your birds? How do you go about resolving the issue, and do you routinely treat for it?

That's a very open question is it not.

For me the worst illnesses would be those which are not obvious at first.

If you have an acute illness it is obvious the birds are unwell so you do not race and look for a cure.

With something less obvious fanciers will take some time to realise that they have a problem.

One that's shows symptoms is Paratyphoid and is just about the worst one of the lot.

 

One that doesn't show symptoms is certain bacterial infections, the only indication is poor racing performances.

 

Both vet jobs but the former eradication is a must.
