Guest samroy
As a complete novice am I better with young birds or ones with a bit of experience. Mind you still haven't decided on type of bird. Any advice on training needed. What is easier trained roller or racing for beginners.

BIGPETE
Whatever variety/species you go for, go for young birds. If you go for old birds more drama and more sections required etc. Rollers are very entertaining for a bit of fun and relatively low maintenance. If you aren't planning to race competitively but want to keep a few birds for fun, you could keep an assortment of birds for example a few rollers and a few homers/racers and see what you enjoy more and which paths it leads down. There is no harm in keeping a loft of a few different breeds.
