This is known as the Darkness system. The Yb's are only allowed 9 or 10 hours of natural daylight per day until the 21st of June. By doing this they will only moult their body feathers and will retain their flights thus enabling them to race the program with a full wing of feathers. Natural Yb's that are allowed daylight all summer will race with gaps in their wings as they will moult the wing flights before racing finishes. Hope that helps.

As John has said its up to yourself when you darken the loft ,say from 6 pm until 8am or 7pm till 9am it's up to you ,put up some kind of blinds it don't have to be pitch black ,they should still be able to see the drinkers ,and everything else as normal, the aim is to make them think it's the winter months .it's the way to fly YB .IMO ,good luck if you decide to try it .

Walter it is the way u have to do it in most feds imo there is only a handful of darkness flyers in the lanarkshire fed.. in some feds there isnt any natural ybs

i agree george but there returns and velosities are no better than natural flyers so whats the point of putting your yb through that stress and i hear many take sickness during this time so its jmo but i dont see any benefit at all m8 but every one to there own
