Me and my mate John were just on the motorway this morning opposite Beattock heading south when a Peregrine took a Crow clean out of the sky as we approached she carried it straight over both lanes of the motorway what a sight wished it could have been on film ,She was an absolute beast of a hen falcon and carried the crow with ease

Like I have said for years once the racing stops they will kill whatever they need to survive until the Prime Roast appears in the Spring .

The idea of keeping pigeons in for the winter to deny the falcon it's food is nonsense. They have plenty to eat because there are wood pigeons from Europe, fieldfares, jackdaws crows rooks and lots more. If the going gets tough they can always go down to the coast because there are loads of waders, ducks and geese there for them.

The only point to keeping our birds in is to try to hide them for a while because they will have to face the falcons sooner or later.
