frill on 09 yb....

anyone any opinion about frills on the necks of pigeons, this yb ive bred has one but none of its parents or grandparents have one....could it be a defect in the genes or any other type of defect in its breeding, would it race ok by having this ?

nothing wrong with it mate ,it will have a frill somewhere down the line in its pedigree ,theres been a lot of fantastic birds with frills

my old no1 janssen cock was a frilly,use to look like a dicky bow,never faliled breeding winners,his g,g,g children still have them,whats the breed bud ?

thanks for the comments hotrod and schouwman71, the breeding of this bird is lefebre dhaenens which i introduced last year with its grandparents....ive had this breed before from similar lines but still never had a frill.  still, as you both say....might be a good one.

ive got a white logan x briko with a frill on the back of its head . nothing to worry about .

thanks cowman, does yours race ok ?  wondered if it would be a problem if when racing it flew in rain.....normally the neck is tight and silky and seals from the rain, but with the frill its more open therefor maybe the rain getting in and it getting more wet...???

My best breeding de klak hens had a frill,and it is still running through the family

so you wouldnt say it was any sort of defect then whitenight, or wouldnt restrict ist racing ability at all.....hope its a throwback to a winner.

if breeding fed winners is a defect keep them coming,i have some silver shadow grizzels with frills,dont stop fanciers trying to by them
