anyone any opinion about frills on the necks of pigeons, this yb ive bred has one but none of its parents or grandparents have one....could it be a defect in the genes or any other type of defect in its breeding, would it race ok by having this ?

thanks for the comments hotrod and schouwman71, the breeding of this bird is lefebre dhaenens which i introduced last year with its grandparents....ive had this breed before from similar lines but still never had a frill.  still, as you both say....might be a good one. :)

thanks cowman, does yours race ok ?  wondered if it would be a problem if when racing it flew in rain.....normally the neck is tight and silky and seals from the rain, but with the frill its more open therefor maybe the rain getting in and it getting more wet...???
