The birds at Tarbes have been liberated at 16.15 hrs in a light North East wind. They cleared immediately.

do you think a liberation time of 16-15 does the birds any favors as they were not going to get far before they all had to go down,there are not many birds home so far ?

I don't fly south, but I thought with these late libs, they were done so the birds didn't have enough time to hit the coast before dark. I would love to see Alwyn Hills pigeon Wing Down make it home though, the pigeon is a superstar.

He timed two pigeons, none of which are wing down, still plenty of time yet.

I've heard two conflicting stories, one that he sent Wing Down, the other he did not. If he did send him I hope he gets him.

over the moon for club mate and friend Steve Warhurst on winning 8th section k and 149th open from only his second attempt at a race over 700 miles,brilliant flying but he told me there are a vast amount of birds missing.

On another website, a famous auctioneer who sold children of wingdown at blackpool, has put a message to say wingdown is home, injured and officially retired now.
