Fair Play Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Manchester police and City Council have admitted they cocked up big time never expected the huge crowds that turned up. Back to the thread never over till the final whistle but feel W.S. has been a bit too negative done well to hold things together but you are never remembered for the things you lose.
DOVEScot Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 i have not seen 200000 fans outside ,without tickets in a premiership game lately, have you. You are talking about one of the biggest games for a scottish maybe even british team, you cannot compare that to a premiership fixture if it ever happens :-/

It could happen at any, bearing in mind 100,000 rangers fans and only Forty-two people were arrested in the city The club with the most arrests was Manchester United. There were 192 arrests of Manchester United supporters in 2006/07, up from 147 the previous season. ... Assistant Chief Constable Justine Curran said the day had been "largely peaceful" with more than 100,000 fans behaving well in an atmosphere of "carnival and celebration". "But I'm really disappointed that has been spoiled by pockets of disorder that have broken out in the city centre. "A minority of thugs have overshadowed what should have been a great occasion.
