does anybody know anything about these pigeons in this country or does anybody race them with any success

Had a chat with Dean Pallett at Doncaster last year about them, he thought top drawer, small team man,a bit like Van Reet was way back. I would hope so cos he's the UK agent!

I was interested in these birds and I had made my mind up to try a pair. That was until i heard Dean Pallet on the subject. He gave me the hard sell which put me off because I thought that if they need to be sold I would not want them at this stage. I will wait until they have had a chance to do something. I am never comfortable at the idea of buying from Studs anyway because their job is to make sales so that they can make a profit. I need birds to win races not put money into the pockets of Pigeon Sellers.

just ask me

I have some very good sprinters which gives me a bit of a problem. If I want to introduce some new sprint blood I need it to be at least as good as mine. I tried 10 youngsters out last year which gave me the following result. 1 good, 2 acceptable. The rest were not good enough.

Where would you look for sprinters?

you have quite good results Owen and the birds you bred are suited to your system so there should be a higher acceptable rate you hope from what you breed in your own loft percentage wise as you have weeded out what dont meet your standards though years of selection but to buy in new blood is a must or else the stock loft can go stale

the first set of results i look at each week is the Tienverbond results in Belgium i believe fancier for fancier its the toughest competition in Belgium then as you know its a matter of studying the results birds sent etc and how others do with the birds from the area what i would say is that one top class flyer from the region his birds dont do as well for others the germans are very smart pigeon people and they are all over people who race in the Tienverbond like a rash lol
