Wiley Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 what's the basis of the lambrechts? are they basically Janssen based like the van loons camphuis etc? The Red and mealy line is yes but not directly from Janssen
Guest maricelbill Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 buying some young lambrechts from next years crop. The red and mealy line? You might enlighten me? I've never owned a Janssen. I assume there are other colours. They must descend from something. B'
Guest maricelbill Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 some lambrechts coming myself in the new year. Those with the Busschaerts is my lot. i'll be confused with any more. I'll be found wandering in the loft dribbling senile mumbling. But tell me, the camphuis Janssen, and the Sapiens. What the word on them? Pigeon sellers dream. kind of rolls of the tongue. I'd almost by a pair so I could say it. Sapiens. Would you like to see my Sapiens. These are my Sapiens over here. And my Camphuis. I planted some lovely Camphuis recently. Let me out of here, I'll take the pills.
just ask me Posted August 14, 2012 Report Posted August 14, 2012 sapins are jos soonjen based Steven fenech of london probably has the best of them he raced a very good cock in the last few year by the name of bolt into Essex and Kent combine some fantastic results basically jos soontjen pigeons that denis sapin made his own denis was just sprint based in belguim but now flys longer stuff and doing well in that too lambrects from what i can see have 101 strains in them similar to about 90% of most Belgium so called family's im far from a expert on the family but have seen a good few peds and really haven't seen a common bird that flows though the peds maybe like what you see lets say some of the soontjen familys where the late tom was closely bred id be more worried about the results of who your buying off then the family of birds they keep i wouldent be tempted to buy off anyone just because they had a particular family of birds they would be have to winning in the last few year and also his birds winning for others jannsens real jannsens dont do that much winning anymore but could you call someone who bought jannsens maybe back in the 80s and today are racing maybe 4 generations or more from the original birds could they still be called jannsens for me there not very few winning birds today in Belgium have a jannsen in there ped
Guest maricelbill Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 you really do know everything!! i bought from this fancier because his integrity was vouched for. his birds were also vouched for. and in both cases vouched for by someone who would not lend their own name lightly. that's about the size of it TBH. The only guarantee I can give is if you buy rubbish you'll have a lot more of it next year,
Guest Owen Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 Well I am glad the there is little or no certainty in Strains of Pigeons because if there were the rich people would buy up all the best and the rest of us would be left behind. I follow the policy of breeding from only tried and tested birds and ignore their origin. OK I have a lot of Lambrecht blood in my pigeons and I have been lucky enough to aquire some very good breeders but not all of them are Lambrecht. I have no doubt that I have some very fast birds over the sprints but it is now up to me to keep the future generations working in the same way. I will do this by employing the Bull System to breed from the best cocks and I will pair sprint winners to sprint winners or their daughters. Now here is the rub. What would I call the Strain of Pigeons in say 5 years time? I think I would be cheating if I called them by a Strain name because I will have selected them by differant criteria than the original breeders. By then I hope I will have pigeons that are successful at racing in sprint races into a Welsh Valley. We shall see!
just ask me Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 dont go on looks either ive had some right good ones that were right ugly lol they become beautiful looking though with a few firsts after them lol
john@formula 1 lofts Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 we brought 28 Lambrechets direct last year and have raced y/b's from them for the first time this year must say we have been very impressed with them winning 2x1st club and 2x1st open (fed) in 4 races. plus other positions
