Having just joined this site today in order to put a lost bird on, I decided to go through the lost and found and low and behold there was the same stray ring number of the bird I have. The last thread had been placed by gulkie on 14th and 15th June saying that this bird had been roughing it when he got it in. The ring number is NEHU 11 N 2146, blue hen.For that to be said it must have been in poor condition when he got it in and here it is 2 weeks later wearing a brand new yellow rubber. From the time it would have taken to get the bird back to the owner it must have barely had time to get a few decent meals and then stuck in a basket straight away. No wonder it got lost if this was the case! I tried to contact NEHU earlier but it was closed due to the holiday but there was a reply on gulkies thread with the owners mobile number....Wilkinson/Gray. Unfortunately I cant get through on this number for whatever reason????? Would like to know the circumstances re this bird so if gulkie could reply that would be great.Would like to know if pigeon was indeed returned to the owner or if he was told just to liberate when ok? It may well be the rubber could have been on for the two weeks but like I say it looks new so could be either or.If you are reading this gulkie can you give me some info please before I go chasing up the NEHU tomorrow. Ta!

as i said i put the rubber on for id purpesses and libed the bird as requested by the owner who dosent seem to give a toss.then they wonder why birds are not reported.i went well out of my way to try to get bird home .but i will think twice from now on.

PLEASE dont think that way---i am a member of the NEHU and have had my birds blast through into scotland and gentlemen of the sport have put them on transporters heading south for me to meet with and collect my birds.

due to this response by scots lads i go out of my way to get SU birds onto transporters on friday nights or saturday mornings.

one day i will send someones fed topper or champion bird home but in the same breath i always give the guys the option and will sort it for them if thats what they want.

please carry on reporting them.
