Guest IB Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 all racers have to be vacsinated to race do you think the strays got the bus down the road making excuses for jobs rights common sense should prevale all su pigeons are known to shu Hi there, couldn't agree more. It's down to common sense - the fact that the bird has been lost racing shows that it has already been in a race basket and on a transporter this year, so it has met all the vaccination etc requirements, otherwise it wouldn't have been in a race basket on a transporter in the first place. IMO it is a waste of our own transport system and our money. When a lorry comes back down the road empty there is absolutely nothing stopping it being used to ferry a few pigeons closer to home to give these birds a decent chance of getting back to their loft at no additional cost to their owner. Remember members have already paid for that transporter & fuel and it's another £40 per bird by courier we're talking about here - the arrangements for which could put another week into the bird being brought back.
blucock Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 Totally agree with IB any bird picked up should be on transporter - game is dear enough , birds just need a chance back in their own area and will clear home. Don't give lazy people who don't care about pigeons an excuse....
