you need to make sure the inside of it isnt dark as it will get cold so i would make sure the sun can get in there most of the day

too much sun in a loft burns off oxygen and if not well ventilated can cause major problems if a loft is well insulated you don't need that much sun at all

you can have a look at the Planning Portal a government web site that gives you all the info you need.. No you dont need permission if you own the property

yes i own the property and going to have a tiled roof so good venterlation
