OLDYELLOW Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 As im new to the sport i was just wondering what you should use and when to treat your birds for preventing diseases i already use cider vinager and advise would be greatfull cheersThey one thing anyone will advise is to treat for Paromixyo virus , the next main common ailment is canker this usually goes out of hand when birds are under stressed common symptoms are a cheesey like growth in back of birds mouth although wet canker can create wet droppings , then next worms a long with lice which can be easily dealt with , with Ivomectin 2 drops on back of neck , then there's going light rapid loss of weight. My advice would be get them vaccinated for Paromixyo virus and treat for worms / parasites with Ivomectin , consider getting your birds tested by sending samples away treat for what you do have . As for prevention a few simple products are fresh garlic add to water , cider vinegar also add to water , live natural yoghurt and brewers yeast add to feed for 2 days a week look after the good bacteria in the gut and the birds immune system should do the rest .
just ask me Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 do the birds for pmv when weaning them over to the young bird loft i think is best
