......what would you change in the pigeon game?

Personally i would love to see one national, less bop and a lot less feather merchants many genuine sellers but since joining the sport ive noticed a few people saying there cutting back.then they sell youngsters for about 4 months after it then show n signs of chucking it or cutting back

Get all the member of all the Feds and Nationals that are split and race separately, and get back to 1 Fed and 1 National, for the sake of the future of our declining sporthttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0138-thinking.gif

Good grief where to start lol , I would like to see the unions to take control and create better federations and run the sport more like a business , I'd like to see all channel races organised by the unions and run as national races , sections every 50 miles with accessible marking stations. All clubs should accept anyone within there boundary unless a defaulter. Competition should be just that not breakaways so a few can take prizes they wouldn't normally win when true competition is within there club :)

the way i see it is this whilst the fancier's can create federations ok some have been around a very long time , many over lap or shrink when there's someone winning , set section area's would mean a federation within each section , this would give good and reasonably fair competition in each area . Similar distances flown in each section each week then create a result for each section then top 5 birds from each section for a weekly national result , then better comparisons can be made from one section to another . Then we might get more recognition on a world scale , I have always believed the best birds are in the UK but there's no where to track results in a plain and simple format . The far east would probably buy more UK birds if we were better set up and had clearer results system for all to see the top pigeon men on a near equal footing in mileage inland , sections at channel :)

Because some fanciers (household names) were winning week in week out in our the fed the rules were changed, that only your first 4 birds count for fed honours. This made fanciers join other clubs for another 4 possitions, in effect you could take 9th fed but in reallity you wouldn't be in the top 20. With the NFC, MNFC, BICC, 2 Scottish Nationals, NWCC and UNC to name a few it does make sence to have 50 mile sections and fly for regional possitions and go forward to national possitions BUT some pigeon men (big fish in a small pond) like there own importance so it wont happen in our life time..

Very true , I'm content to fly my birds where I am , I'm not shy from competition I actually welcome it , the tougher the competition the harder it is the better the diamonds produced ;)
