franny41 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 MA DOOKIT AN’ MA DOOS written by Robert D Mc Lean: MA DOOKIT AN’ MA DOOS Noo there’s folk that like the golfin’ An’ there’s some that like tae read An’ some fair daft fur motor bikes An’ crazy fur the speed. Then there’s men that like the women, Cigarettes an’ booze, Bit leave me an’ Ah’m happy Wi’ ma dookit an’ ma doos. An’ early in the mornin’ When maist folk are in bed, Ah’ll be on the road sae cheery Tae see ma burds are fed. An’, man, it does ma hert guid Tae hear their welcome coos, As Ah step intae the dookit, Wi’ the feedin’ fur ma doos. An’ when the wife is naggin’ An’ she gets awfy thrang, An’ life becomes gey miserable An’ everything gaes wrang. Ah juist slip on ma jaikit An’ quickly lose the blues, Wi’ a visit tae ma feathered freens, Tae ma dookit an’ ma doos. An when the racin’ season sterts, Man, it’s quite a game, Fur it’s then Ah sit an’ worry Tae a’ ma burds are hame. An’ in ma hert Ah really ken Ah don’t care if they lose, When Ah’m waitin’ an’ Ah’m prayin’ In ma dookit fur ma doos. An when ma life is endin Face death an’ whit it means, An’ sadness it will fill ma hen, Tae leave ma feathered freens. Juist lay me in a little lot A place that Ah wull chose, A wee bit grun’, juist six by twa, Near ma dookit an’ ma doos
