Guest joshdonlan Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Has anyone adapted sputnik traps for ETS?
sapper756 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Has anyone adapted sputnik traps for ETS? yes, simply build a false floor under the sputnik base, and fit the pad in there.
DJWa Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 yes, simply build a false floor under the sputnik base, and fit the pad in there. i built mine on top of the base into a false floor with a bobwire back
Guest joshdonlan Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 any photos please? can you still let the birds out of the sputnik? I was thinking of fitting a board just below the drop holes with bobs behind it, but leaving the bottom half of the trap open, so I can still let them out through it, but just dont know how to go about it. Cheers
OLDYELLOW Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 just lift trap up an inch build a draw where ets can slide in screw either edge of draw then fix trap on top simples
Guest joshdonlan Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 you need bob wires though Mark, so not as simple as that as I want to let the birds out of the trap as well
OLDYELLOW Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 in past i've made a rear door simple enough Josh
Guest joshdonlan Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 yes something like that is how I want it. How did it work?
OLDYELLOW Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 yes something like that is how I want it. How did it work?like I said that was my first attempt your better building a draw 2 batons either side say 2inch wide x 1 inch thick and a baton at the rear then sandwich the 3 batons with think ply making a draw with an opening where the front of the base of where your trap is to be screw the two front batons to your draw then add your trap above your ets then is always protected
Guest joshdonlan Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 you've lost me Mark lol, are you saying put the pad underneath the base of the trap? I will be sandwiching the pad between 2 pieces of ply, and use aluminium channel, but cant think of how to fix it into the sputnik? I want/need it in a similar position to your photo, so the birds can go out underneath the pad and then trap back over the pad.

OLDYELLOW Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 you probably can't see it but the wire on the photo is in the draw of the box , only problem with the previous design was they took too much time entering I changed it to the bottom like i said I've now removed the sputniks and am building my own mini aviaries
