Hi all whats your thoughts on having lights on in your loft during breeding do you think its essential ? regards Brian

for stock birds it would help say 3/4 extra hours per day but for racers no no it could possibly start the moult off they might think its spring time with the extended light any way racers probably are better with a long break from breeding chores this is my thoughts anyway probably others think different.

I never bother with lights no mater what time of year it is , I wouldn't want to mess with the moult , I have them in my loft but my loft used to be much darker , but now I've opened it up more only time I'll need them is when doing any internal remodelling to loft out of season :)

in my opinion Brian , NO . have had lights on in the stock loft in the past and it didnt make a great deal of diffrence ,although i was a complete novice back then , now knowing a little more i may try it again ... but no immediate plans.
