alex wight Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 I have slabs in front of my lofts, but due to lack of direct sunlight they are turning green with algae. My aviary is the same which is made of wood. Is there anything that i can treat both the slabs and the woodwork with to stop this build up. The way i get rid of it just now is to power wash it all. Regards alex.
Blue Chequer Pied Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 Jeyes fluid should do the trick.
alex wight Posted September 17, 2011 Author Report Posted September 17, 2011 Jeyes fluid should do the trick. Just scrub it into the slabs? I,ve power washed them today so will try treating it with jeyes. I,ll do the aviary tomoro and do the same. Cheers paul
Guest IB Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 I’ve used 2. I really liked Di-Ard which cost about £30 for 5 litres in 2009/10. But this year with cash being tight, and finding it had risen to £50, I looked for another around £30, and tried RBT24/7. Of the 2, I found Di-Ard was best, it kept roofs, walls, slabs free of algae & moss for around 6 months. I also used it to wash down external woodwork and it did the same on that. RBT24/7 doesn’t last so long, but it does a slightly different job in that it also does bacteria and viruses, tho I didn’t buy it for that.
