derek its not as bad as everybody thinks imo

Derek, I flew in the Midland fed for 4 years m8 and every year the ybs were decimated.( especially the first 3 races ) The thing that puzzled me was that the members got hammered and pretended they didnt. It showed in the main yb race of the year ( the open race ) when only 200 birds were entered from 200 members, that equates to 1 bird per member. I liked the Midland fed, I liked the members in it and there was alot of good pigeon men competing in it but I disliked the fact that they went west because Airdie got the advantage over everyone. They went east before but Denny and Slammanan were cleaning up and the returns were excellent. Immediately they turned back west so the Airdrie and Chapelhall guys got the red cards, regardless of losses. The Kirky club pulled out of the yb season in the Midland fed because previous years were so bad.By the way, I was leading all the major fed trophies and I only needed a timer in all the yb races to win them, inc the John Donald trophy when we decided to go down the east with lanarkshire.I felt, looking after my ybs was more important than winning any fed trophies or averages.I cant understand why folk dont want the best start for there birds, old or young. We have the same debate every year and ive yet to be proved wrong. Ask yourself this, why have dozens of fanciers left the Midland fed to go with Lanarkshire.Believe me, its not because they love the lanarkshire fed!!!!!
