Found Racing Pigeon

Hi

 

I was walking the dog home from the vets when I came across a pigeon that appears to be injured, it was scuttling back and forth but didn't fly off when my dog lunged toward it. As I pulled the dog away I spotted a yellow ring on its leg so I tied the dog up and managed to catch the pigeon. There was a number on a ring on the other leg so I called. After telling the owner where I was he said he couldn't come straight away as he's in Southport, I'm in St Helens. He suggested that I try to find a pigeon owner in St Helens, he said there were a few, who could take care of it until he could pick it up. I managed to get a box from the nearby pub and have brought it home but need to know if there is an pigeon owner in St Helens who would be willing and able to take it off my hands. I have a cat and a dog and am not really able to take care of the pigeon.
