Guest TheHatter Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 Hi, I found a homing pigeon from my yard couple of days ago. It's a foreign bird and no one in finland hasn't recognised the markings in the ring. Anyone got a clue, where is it from. Picture of bird and the ring can be seen here:http://thehatter.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Pigeon/ It looks like there is white ring with slim orange stripes. There is blue text EOPR and with marker is made 99S48. Underneath is violet ring with RO and something. I haven't yet wanted to take off that top ring. No markings on the feathers. Pigeon is captured and is in my hurry made loft, so i'll be anxious to get it back to decent home loft. Yours, Harri
OLDYELLOW Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 Unfortunately in order to help we need the ring number the white bands looks like a phone number and cant read the ring number beneath it sorry if you give ring number then someone maybe able to help the bird's wing may be stamped with a phone number on
Guest homestead Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 If the outer ring is peeled back ( tel ring ) does it look like a RO Romania ring underneath ?
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 If the outer ring is peeled back ( tel ring ) does it look like a RO Romania ring underneath ? It looks like it is from Romania I found this site - but do not know if it will be of any help http://fcpr.ro/ro/asociatii-fcpr/
Guest TheHatter Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 Thanks guys, It really was a tape over the ring. With a 'little' hunt around my garage, i managed to see that actual ring. It says RO and under it 2006 and then 204242. I'll try to find someone in Romania, who speaks something else than romanian, not my fluent language. That tape was so worn out, that it can't be read.
