as said before a thankless task and nobody queing up for the job and no prasies when we have a good race

NO ONE, makes as many calls as Jim Hannah on race day. He makes Every effort Every week to try and get as good a race as possible for the members and HIMSELF, as it seems some of you forget his doos are in the basket as well!!

 

As far as a web site is concerned, ITS YOUR FED, put a proposal into the next race program meeting or AGM that a Computer expert gets hired to create one for us, ITS SIMPLE to get things done. NOT as simple as greetin about dodgy races on P/B, but of course ANYTHING that requires forethought and planning is TOO MUCH EFFORT for the greeters.

Did Tony c not post Essex fed liberated at Wetherby 15 miles north of us at the same time as Lanarkshire so that was a problem am sure you would agree John

 

as for "greetin" my birds were in my loft so not got much to moan about have i !!

am not sticking up for that combine but i was at wetherby waiting to lib i phoned my race advisor at 8am told him iwas ready to lib the birds he said he was trying get hold of the scotish feds at selby but he was having problems getting through to them my race advisor phoned me backat 8 10am and told me they were holding because the weather in scotland was bad i ib my convoy at 8 15am & 8 45amonly to find out that the scotish feds had libbed just after me 15miles away my self and my race always that are libbing near us we should always talk to each other

think we have strayed away from what this topic was all about it was nothing to do with race controler or having good/bad race it was why LANARKSHIRE was late in liberating the pigeons thats all and thanks for your input lads it just confirmed what i already knew :emoticon-0137-clapping:

spot on, having previously worked with Jim I know the work he put in every race day,he was constantly on the phone, he had a large map and he tried to check as many feds around lanarkshire as possible to try and work out when and where the feds would be at a certain time so as to try and avoid clashing wherever he could work it out,he had a long list of contacts whom he phoned regularily the lenght and breadth of the country to constantly check the weather but nobody is infallable and nobody can get it right 100% of the time no matter how hard they work and as the old saying goes"dammed if you do and dammed if you don't"
