Stray Pigeon

A racing pigeon has been found in our garden (10 May 08.30am).

 

There is a green ring No 2178 and a white one 4753. We have caught it and it is safe in a box with some water.

Good morning,If the fanciers on the site can help I'm sure they will but there should be some other letters/numbers on the ring if it's a racing pigeon,such as SU 09 A 234 or GB 09 A 23456 or seeing as the NEHU rings are bright green this year> NEHU 11 TEE 2334.If you can put any further numbers on site I'm sure someone will get back to you.

hi and thanks for looking after a lost racing pigeon,if a have any small seeds like rice,lentils,barley or even parrot or budgie seed than im sure the pigeon would appreciate it along with the water you have given it if you still have the pigeon than try cutting a hole in the box so it can see to eat/drink but as lindsay says there should be some letters on the pigeons leg ring before the no,s,which will help u trace the owner also the other ring may be the owners tel no so u can ring him direct,if you need any further help please update us but im sure that there must be some pigeon fanciers in your area who can help? come on guys who can help a non fancier out? debs

if it has 2 rings it could be a show racer
