this rangers thing ain't nothing to do with the fans, this is to do with greed ruining yer club, and telling you nothing

but wanting yer money for season tickets

when your fans asked to buy out Murray

Johnston and co shot yous all down, at the last 3 agms he didn't want yer moneys in case he and Murray had to answer to you all, he doesn't even want to sit beside you all, if you deal in Murray's

business, acumen, there are a deficit

of some £750 million kicking about:emoticon-0126-nerd:

Lloyds Banking Group has increased its stake in the metals and property empire owned by Sir David Murray from 11 to 24 per cent after the downturn caused the Scottish entrepreneur to break his banking covenants.

The £150m debt for equity swap will reduce the Edinburgh-based group’s debt – which stood at £759m – by a similar amount.

EDITOR’S CHOICE

Editorial Comment: Fantasy football - Feb-04Torres moves to Chelsea for reported £50m - Jan-31Football asks itself who really is offside - Jan-28Spurs set for Olympic stadium battle - Jan-30Frontrunners emerge in AS Roma race - Jan-29A whole new ballgame for Indian football - Dec-09Sir David said the group fell into the red after the financial crisis sent the UK residential and commercial property market into freefall and caused his metals division to move from profit to loss “almost overnightâ€.

Delayed accounts show that Murray International Holdings made a pre-tax loss of £174.8m for the 17 months to June 30 last year, compared with a profit of £5.1m the prior year.

Most of this loss was attributable to a writedown of £154.5m in the group’s development and investment portfolio, £151m of which was taken through the profit and loss account.

Sir David said: “This writedown represented roughly 20 per cent of the £750m book value of our estate. While this reflects a marked deterioration in values, it is not as significant as many in the property sector have suffered due to the quality of our portfolio and a conservative approach to valuation historically.â€

The group said that in the past six months, prime commercial property has seen something of a resurgence, as shown by its disposal in December for £66.5m of a development in Bothwell Street, Glasgow, at a profit of £12.5m.

“We are hopeful that, over time, this fledgling recovery can be sustained and spread across other sectors of the property market,†said the group.

Sir David is hopeful of selling his controlling stake in Rangers Football Club, which made an operating loss of £11.9m for the year to June 2009, partly because of its early exit from the European Champions League.

The group said that in the absence of significant television revenue, such as that secured by the English Premier League from Sky, a new financial reality was being imposed.

“In the absence of guaranteed incremental revenue, such as from regular participation in the UEFA Champions League, player expenditure in the form of wages and transfer fees will necessarily require to be more realistic in order to balance the books and ensure the long term future of the club.â€

Sir David said: “I consider that, although the UK’s economic recovery remains fragile, the worst is behind us.â€
