Webmaster Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 I had the pleasure of meeting Richard our webmaster at the Blackpool show and one of the points raised was the increasing occurance of arson attacks on pigeon fanciers. Richard wanted to help these unfortunate victims, who, through no fault of there own were left devastated. Soon after Blackpool, Richard asked some forum members to join a committee and started the Pigeonbasics.com Auction for arson victims. The sale raised £3,170 thanks to you, the members. As you all know Mark (username Superstar) had a very bad ending to 2006 having the misfortune to have a house fire 3 days before Christmas. This must have been devastating for him and his family. An application was submitted on Mark’s behalf and sent to the committee members who all got the chance to inspect the information supplied and decided that Mark was a worthy applicant. It is with the greatest of pleasure I can inform the members of Pigeonbasics.com that Mark has been awarded money from the fund. We hope this will help him on his way back to becoming a member of the forum. We know this will never erase the memory of that horrendous night but it will let him know he has a lot of friends, most he may never meet. This is a small token from all that were thinking of Mark during the past few months. We hope to have Mark back on board ASAP. Ian McKay (on behalf of) The Pigeonbasics.com Fund Committee
me Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 This is exactly what the doos should be all about well done to Richard and the rest of the guys involved in this.
Linda Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 Mark was well touched by all the concern and caring everyone on Pigeon Basics has shown him, to receive this donation was much appreciated as no one can really imagine what it is like to lose everything. His family obviously had to be a top priority but now with your help he has been able to make a start on getting his pigeon stuff (as you can tell I'm not hot on the right words) up together. Hopefully he will now be in a position to get back on here very soon. Mark truly is a great bloke and always one for helping anyone out if need be. Thanks to everyone who both bought or sold birds in the auction and thanks to the Webmaster and his team for the work that goes on behind the scenes.
THE FIFER Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 all the best to Mark, hope the future comes out well.
