mosslands1 Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 i was told if i wanted to sell anything on pigeon chat that it would cost me £25 i said i thought it was a rip off and they removed my post and baned me and guess what they told me to use pigeon basics to sell . so tell me why do you think they banned me when they think the same as me lolololollollololloololollolollolll
Guest Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 Why is it such a problem? If this site is free then all well and good and if members want to pay £25 to advertise elsewhere (as i did) then thats their decision. Anyhow £25 is hardly a "rip-off" is it!
edthekid Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 how about if you have a bird up for £25 ...you would have to charge £50 to pay for fee......i think its a bit steep...% is much better only my view..each to there own
pigeon chat Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 its £25.00 a year to become a gold member and mosslands is telling lies as he is not banned at all £25 a year is not expensive for selling products and pigeons it works out at £0.06 a day
Guest chrisss Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 its £25.00 a year to become a gold member and mosslands is telling lies as he is not banned at all £25 a year is not expensive for selling products and pigeons it works out at £0.06 a day i don't know if the guy is banned or not but i cannot find the thread that he and i was on has it been removed?[it was called "free" just in case you have a problem finding it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D]as for the "price/fees" for selling birds both sites charge a lot less than "the books"you pay your money you make your choice

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 its £25.00 a year to become a gold member and mosslands is telling lies as he is not banned at all £25 a year is not expensive for selling products and pigeons it works out at £0.06 a day think that is excellent value, maybe that is something that could be looked at on this site, maybe you could have to pay a fee up front as quite a few mermbers have just joined to sell something, you can see that some of the first and only posts they made were to sell birds
tskyes Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 good idea tammy i think £25 a year is a fair price to pay.
mosslands1 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Report Posted March 23, 2008 so ive been banned for not agreeing with you then
gangster Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 mosslands1 ..i dont know the full story but andy is a personal friend and a dead straight guy maybe a private pm could sort things out.....but the £25 gold membership was introduced by andy for the same reasons as tammy has posted you got guys joining selling and never 2 be seen again and in no way do i suggest you would do the same....but i along with others on here think its the way forward by putting a charge before selling .........remember you can sell all year and it does work out at pennies....??????
DOVEScot Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 think that is excellent value, maybe that is something that could be looked at on this site, maybe you could have to pay a fee up front as quite a few mermbers have just joined to sell something, you can see that some of the first and only posts they made were to sell birds Excellent idea Tammy, to register as a private seller £25 a year and professional sellers £100 a year. What about us that give them away for free on the site, what would we have to pay :-/
gangster Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 well if you are giving away free why should there be any fees involved....
Guest chrisss Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 think that is excellent value, maybe that is something that could be looked at on this site, maybe you could have to pay a fee up front as quite a few mermbers have just joined to sell something, you can see that some of the first and only posts they made were to sell birds if it went down to a vote by members, this one would win, all money made goes at first to running the site, any surplus to the fund.
mosslands1 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Report Posted March 23, 2008 well at least you can haggle about it on here /on pigeon chat you have to agree with the mods or get banned whats the difference me saying i think its a rip off and somone saying todays prices for corn is a rip off ?
DOVEScot Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 If you are giving them away that is not selling so not going to make any difference to you if you are giving them away for free Dont think we should forget that some people are already making a donation for being able to sell pigeons on here and have been for a long time by either putting up birds with the proceeds going to pigeonbasics or by giving a per centage of what they made on the birds they sold I think it has to be one rule for all, leave it to donations and it will not be adhered to by everyone. If private sellers want to donate over the £25 fee and professional sellers donate more than £100 then good on them, they could always take it off the first bird they sell. £100 is nothing for business that is given a chance to potentially sell your goods to over 2600 members, not just pigeons :-/
Guest Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 I sometimes have reason to believe, that the so called MODS are just a load of back scratchers, be it here or elsewhere! Vic being a mod is like being in management, an easy job when you've never done it! Its a no win situation, but it keeps the site running smooth and there would not be a site if it was not for mods, or certainly not a site worth being a member of!! Mosslands was and is, IMO, wrong. Why is it a ripoff, he has never parted with any cash and has never been asked to, so how can he say its a ripoff? Pigeon fanciers, moments like this i remember why i left the sport, knock knock knock.
mosslands1 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Report Posted March 23, 2008 dont forget you still pay £25 if you dont sell your item i think this site is much fairer donations
DOVEScot Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 How would you define professional sellers I would class that as someone whos main income is through selling pigeons I dont see why though if someone wants to put a bird up here and it is sold for say 100 that it couldnt be away to pay for there years fees if it wasnt enough they would have to make up the rest People that make a regular income from selling pigeons are doing it as a profession, may not be their main income, and how would we know if it was or not, If i made £30,000 from selling pigeons and £35,000 by another income then I could truly state that £30,000 was not my main income
DOVEScot Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 Well if it is made quite clear in the first place that there is a fee of 25 pound to sell pigeons on a site cant see you are being ripped off you either take it or leave it what does the 25 pound cover and how does it compare with the bhw that would charge you 29.40 for 1/2 column and 20.00 in the rp You would get a lot of pigeons in half a column plus the coverage would be in the region of 30,000 customers, but that is for one week £25 a year is nothing to private sellers and £100 a year is nothing to professional sellers, in fact I think it is very cheap
gangster Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 are you going to ban your mods for calling me a liar then as clearly you say iam not apart from anything else ...you should be addressing the mods on pigeon chat......not on here do you not think????
pjc Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 I don't think £25 is a lot for regular advertisers to pay. What about all adverts having to be approved before publication to prevent people joining just to place an add? Phil
DOVEScot Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 Possibly anyone donating a pigeon to a site auction would have their fees waved for the coming year :-/
Tony C Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 C’mon lets get real, there’s people indirectly advertising their pigeons on both sites and paying nowt. Look out for them and you’ll see them, 95% of their posts are what they’re winning, how many firsts they’ve won, what pigeons they’re racing. Fishing I think you could call it.
