Guest The Newbie Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 Hi i have joined a club to race this season and i have to be mapped for my distances i have been told it will cost £30 for the mapping and our fed have to use a survayer to map me i think it is scandoulus does any one else have to use a survayer to get mapped.
Tony C Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 What region/union will you be flying with?
Guest The Newbie Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I am in the North west region.
Tony C Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I am in the North west region. Would that be with the RPRA or NWHUif the RPRA this is the only thing I could find regarding 'mapping' 187. Flying DistancesAll NEW flying distances must be obtainedthrough the Association and calculated on theEllipsoidal System by Computer(s). TheCumbria Region and the Devon and CornwallRegion may grant permission for Clubsadministered by these regions to race to a'Breaking Point' for Club racing only.'Individual' members applying for distancesmust have loft location or latitude/longitudecountersigned by a Club Chairman orsecretary. All loft locations are to becalculated from Ordnance Survey
Guest The Newbie Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I think its the RPRA but i aint sure but its our fed rule that says all the mapping has to be done using a survayer i no that a club official can do it aswell but our fed wont accept it its crazy.
Tony C Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 If with the RPRA contact your region secretary for clarification. NORTH WEST REGION: Mr DK and Mrs L Higgins,6 Billingwood Drive,Rawdon,Nr. Leeds, LS19 6PZ.Tel. 01132-504810 .E-mail: dk.higgins@ntlworld.comLancashire and Greater Manchester.

Fair Play Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 RPRA also allow you to Photocopy the part of the map that covers you as long as Long/Lat lines are on it, pin your location, circle the back send it in, costs about £3.00.It's on their website.Forgot to say if RPRA once located L/L all distances are free to members
