i was looking at the pictures of birds sold on the pipa site the other day, they all seemed to have a big step in there wing.at the prices of these birds, i was wondering if this is important,as non of my birds seem to have this, any informed views on this????

I've seen 2 steps described:

Back in 60's it was always between Nos 1 secondary and primary.

Recently I read of a step between primary 6 and 7/8/9/10.

I don't know if either is important.

I like to see a decent step on every flight up to last 3 which should be similar lengths. Just a preference of mine and no doubt means nothing to the pigeons capabilities. It comes down to theories again, eye, throat, vent wing, all just theories
